About me
Get to know me

I live in Charlotte, NC with my husband. I'm lucky enough to live near my family, so I spend a lot of time with them on the weekends. I love books, art, and music.
Personal life
I love being outside. My favorite thing to do after work is taking a long walk with a friend or listening to a podcast—usually The Daily, Pod Save America, or Today, Explained.
I don't watch too much TV, but there are a few shows that have really impacted me. Parks and Recreation means a lot to me because it was one of the first sitcoms that showed a female lead who was passionate and driven in politics. She worked really hard and cared really loudly and never apologized for it.
Severance is another show that I could talk about forever. The creators use color, symmetry, and music to carry so much meaning. It's not just a show, it's a piece of art.
Design philosophy
Design should help people. As designers, it's our job to make sure people get the information they need—whether that's through content or visual design.
Working at SimplePractice, I've seen how design can help therapists navigate the broken healthcare system in the United States and make their jobs easier.
We remove unnecessary information, we write clear content and crystal clear error messages. We arrange information in a way that's scannable and we insert moments of delight. We can make experiences better for people every day—and that's what motivates me.
